Responsibilities About Desert Springs Hospital Desert Springs Hospital Medical Center is a 282-bed acute care facility that has been providing quality healthcare to residents of Southern Nevada since 1971. The hospital has long been referred to as “The Heart Hospital” by residents, due to its solid reputation as a leader in cardiac care. The hospital offers 24-hour emergency services and is nationally recognized for its diabetes, weight loss (bariatric) surgery, cardiac, and stroke programs. Job Description: Responsible for the timely preparation, seasoning and cooking of food for patients, employees, physicians and visitors. Performs similar or related duties. Qualifications Education High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Graduate from a formal school specializing in institutional cooking preferred. Experience Previous experience preferred. License/Certification Current Sothern Nevada Health District Food Handler Safety Training Card. Other Must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide service appropriate to the age of the patients served on the assigned unit/department.
