Product Application Expert – PLC, SCADA, Automation

Role Overview The Product Application Expert (PAE) for PLC, SCADA and Automation will act as the local product expert and point of contact for technical queries related to the product. The PAE will work closely with the Offer Manager for IDPAC, the sales organization and other internal sales groups, to best serve our Customers, our Distributors and our System Integrators. This role will work closely with the offer Manager for IDPAC and the LOB (Line of Business) on reviewing sales opportunities, new product launches, providing onsite and customer training, and being the first point of contact for all technical queries retaliative to PLC, SCADA and Automation. A key aspect of the PAE role is “new” business development. Apart from supporting the sale organization and our customers on existing business and applications, the PAE will be required to develop new business which is why it’s critical for the PAE to be both technical and commercial and be able to develop business through one to one, customer facing activity. What will you do? Work with the Offer Manager to manage all aspects of product lifecycle from strategic planning to tactical activities including product prioritization for launch, support and obsolescence Support sales to win business and be hand on in the customer conversion process Lead product commercialization, including voice of customer research, definition of detailed customer and product requirements based on market needs, industry trends and value proposition, public presentations and competitive analysis. Analyze and capitalize on market trends, customer requirements and competitive strategy to identify opportunities to increase business value through product differentiation. Product launches, trainings, seminars, commercial programs deployment and execution, and strategic partnerships. Provide tactical guidance to Sales by assuring pre-sales technical products, and application assistance. Periodic funnel reviews and strategic engagements with Sales and Distributors on initiatives. Presentations at customers, distributors and trade shows and other company events What qualifications will make you successful? Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or product management Minimum of 5 years in Product Management in the Industrial Automation industry Good technical and commercial knowledge of PLC, SCADA and Automation is essential Excellent presentation and customer facing skills are a must Functional knowledge of English and French is required. Must be able to work with stakeholders located in Quebec, other Canadian provinces and internationally. Competency in IIoT is highly desirable Location Based in Montreal, but will support all Eastern Canada and the Maritimes Travel Can be to 50% depending on customer and sales support required but averages between around 30% of travel.
