Overview S2 Services, a division of OSI Systems, is seeking an Operator based out of Puerto Rico. S2 Global is the leading provider of security screening solutions and has extensive experience in program assessment, technology deployment, operation management, image analysis and maintenance services at major events, ports, land borders and air cargo facilities. Focused on Operations, Integration and Training, S2 Global’s solutions ensure that customers have the advanced technologies and sophisticated techniques to significantly increase their screening capabilities. The purpose of this position is to operate cargo screening equipment at a screening site located within the ports of Puerto Rico. Responsibilities Implements approved cargo security screening procedures at the screening checkpoint and conducts screening of cargo as directed by a supervisor under close supervision. Monitors the flow of cargo through the screening entrance and exit checkpoints to facilitate the orderly and efficient processing of cargo through the operation of cargo scanning equipment such as the Rapiscan Eagle P60, the Rapiscan GaRDS Portal, the Rapiscan Eagle F9000 Series, etc. Identifies dangerous material and assists in preventing dangerous material from being transported. Exercises sound judgment with regard to security vulnerabilities, emergency situations and proper handling of potentially dangerous material. Maintains close communication with supervisors regarding any issues that might reveal a problem or vulnerable area of security screening that is discovered in the course of screening duties. Participates in information briefings concerning security-sensitive information. Follows all proscribed safe work practices and operating procedures related to the safe operation of cargo screening equipment. Qualifications Possess a high school diploma, GED or equivalent; or have at least one year of experience in security work, aviation or cargo screening work, or x-ray technician work. Possess basic aptitudes and physical abilities, including color perception, visual and aural acuity, physical coordination, and motor skills. Pass a security screening personnel selection examination. Must be able to obtain and maintain required Transportation Workers Identification Certification. Possess English and Spanish proficiency to include reading, speaking and writing. Pass an employment security investigation background check, including a criminal check and a credit check; and pass a drug screening test. Demonstrate daily fitness for duty without impairment due to illegal drugs, sleep deprivation, medication, or alcohol. Satisfactorily complete all training requirements. Must be able to lift up to 25lbs and be able to climb stairs, and stand, walk and/or sit for extended periods. Must be comfortable working in small or confined spaces. While performing job duties, employee is regularly exposed to radiation producing machines. Radiation exposure is below regulatory limits established by the Federal government (Nuclear Regulatory Commission or Occupational Safety & Health Administration).
