Senior Electrical Designers (EOI)

<b> Overview / Responsibilities </b><br><br><b> Senior Electrical Designers - Onshore, Glasgow Based </b><br><br> Wood Process & Energy are seeking expressions of interest from Senior Electrical Designers due to anticipated growth in our Glasgow office for a number of project scopes long term. The opportunity will ensure p reparation of electrical drawings and design deliverables to the required technical quality with minimum input from engineering personnel. <br><br>Applications are invited from Electrical Designers who are interested in contractor or staff positions as an expression of interest whilst opportunities are being fully determined. <br><br><b> Day to Day you will: </b><br><ul><li> Execute Electrical Discipline design and draughting activities within budget and schedule </li><li> Achieve safety standards as defined in personal performance contract </li><li> Be responsible for assessing effectiveness of working practices and systems with a view to continuously improving systems </li><li> Carry out work in accordance with company and project Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality systems </li><li> Ensure that all assigned work is carried out in compliance with the agreed budget and schedule </li><li> Identify scope and schedule changes in accordance with Change Control Process </li><li> Ensure that designs comply with the relevant standards and procedures </li><li> Maintain Electrical Discipline filing system </li><li> Keep up to date with technical developments, National and International standards and legislative requirements </li><li> Review and check work output of discipline assigned personnel as required </li><li> Prepare Drawing Office estimates and schedules and assist in their review </li><li> Maintain good communication with our clients </li></ul> <br><br><b> Skills / Qualifications </b><br><br><ul><li> ONC or equivalent in appropriate engineering subject </li><li> Conversant with codes of practice, standards, relevant sections of statutory documentation applicable to draughting function </li><li> Experienced designer with a strong technical background </li><li> Able to create base design drawings / models from agreed work scope with minimal input from engineering personnel </li><li> Strong knowledge of manual and CAD draughting techniques </li><li> Ability to accept delegated responsibility and control budgets for delegated tasks </li><li> Conversant with company quality control assurance requirements applicable to draughting function </li><li> Computer literate (database / spreadsheets) </li><li> Able to provide draughting checking function as directed by lead designer </li></ul> <br><br><b> Company Overview </b><br><br>Wood is a global leader in engineering and consultancy across energy and the built environment, helping to unlock solutions to some of the world's most critical challenges.
