Location: London Grade: 9 (for internal purposes only) The Role: As an Operations Analyst you will be acting as a project coordinator, liaising with stakeholders, gathering requirements, performing in depth analysis, and overseeing the successful releases that enables S&P Global Commodity Insights to publish a wealth of data and authored content across multiple delivery channels. The Impact: S&P Global Commodity Insights publish over 20,000 price assessments and various benchmarks every day and growing. Generating accurate and timely information is crucial as our customers rely on this information to help them make decisions every day. The Team: Editorial Operations is part of the Business Operations Group which is a shared service across the S&P Global Commodity Insights Content creation group and is responsible for creating and managing back-end templates and business rules that enables S&P Global Platts to publish a wealth of data and authored content across multiple delivery channels. The team also acts as second line support for queries raised by business and troubleshoot issues on real time system. Editorial Operations consists of four regional teams across Singapore, India, London, and Houston. All teams work very closely to provide nearly 24/5 coverage and is at the forefront of defining future state architecture for the price assessment process and this role will be central to evolving our operating model. Roles and Responsibilities Day-to-Day Tasks Liaise with global Editorial Operations teams to work closely on various upcoming projects, maintain the quality and to discuss way to improve the workflows. Responsible for providing ideal solutions to the Editorial group using relevant platforms for the projects that involve the introduction of new market assessments and methodological changes and deliver them on agreed timeline To support the editorial staff across Platts’ worldwide offices (Europe, US, and Asia) using Platts editorial systems to produce price assessments, market news and commentaries for Platts real-time services and publications Providing second line support for production issues and escalating as necessary, analyze them and put necessary actions in place to mitigate for future. Support new releases, development and co-ordinate user acceptance testing and implementation of the editorial systems Ensures all processes are followed and quality is maintained Provide onsite support and remote support for the company’s business continuity plan at the disaster recovery site Help manager to showcase and improve Editorial Operations brand Cover for any bank holidays and other scenarios and to do whatever takes to get our contents out to customers on time Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or equivalent Minimum two years on job experience in Excel (Intermediate level), VBA, Python, Testing and process improvement Good knowledge of Data Governance, Logical Data Flow Models and MS Visio Knowledge of these is an advantage: CSS, HTML, XML, Git, Database knowledge including SQL, Windows environment, Commodities markets, and Taxonomy Minimum of 1-year experience and excellent understanding of Agile, scrum and LEAN methodologies and different technologies applicable to real-time services Support conversations to clarify requests, ensure accurate understanding of scope, manage Editorial expectations on available content and offer alternatives in case of limited/unavailable content Strong prioritization skills, flexibility, ability to respond and manage multiple deadlines effectively, strong analytical/problem solving skills and attention to detail are paramount for this role Excellent verbal and written communication and negotiation skills along with ability to lead requirements sessions with clients and project teams Ability to meet tight deadlines The ability to work independently and a global team-oriented approach contributing to the overall timely delivery of multiple projects. Prepared to step in to assist colleagues, including those in other regions, actively supporting knowledge sharing. Maturity to lead by example, willingness to get into detail as required while also balancing delegation effectively while empowering staff to make decisions Must be flexible to ensure required projects and tasks are completed on time. Knowledge of testing and quality assurance. Good presentation skills. Business competencies Some knowledge of the energy industry useful, but not essential, however interest in the sector is highly desirable.
