R&D Pilot Operator

Suez's ultrafiltration membrane business develops, manufactures and sells membranes globally for use in water and wastewater treatment.<br><br>The Pilot Operator will setup, operate, and maintain process tests at the Guelph OWC facility and elsewhere, in support of the Technology department.<br><br><b>Essential Responsibilities</b>:<br><ul><li>Conduct pilot tests on products running in wastewater at the Guelph OWC facility, in accordance with test plans. Activities include monitoring, documenting operations & findings, chemical dosing, module inspections, and regular communications with Test Leaders.</li><li>Perform and document analytical lab tests on a daily basis to characterize process water samples.</li><li>Perform routine maintenance on WW feed equipment located at Guelph WWTP facility.</li><li>Perform occasional maintenance on the test systems and facility equipment.</li><li>Provide on-call and weekend support for testing facility, as needed.</li><li>Work cooperatively with Piloting team and other facility users in Health & Safety, maintenance, and improvement activities to ensure safe and efficient operations.</li><li>Perform and track purchasing for Piloting team.</li><li>Maintain instrument calibrations.</li><li>Act as a backup for the Oakville pilot operator, as needed.</li><li>Perform other Technology-related duties as required.</li></ul><br><b>Qualifications/Requirements</b>:<br><ul><li>Technologist diploma (environmental, chemical, mechanical, or similar preferred) from accredited college.</li><li>Proficiency with MS Excel.</li><li>Ability to occasionally lift equipment weighing up to 30 lbs.</li><li>Water / wastewater treatment knowledge or experience are an asset</li></ul><br><b>Desired Characteristics</b>:<br><ul><li>Good oral and written English skills.</li><li>Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.</li><li>Ability to work independently.</li><li>Strong problem-solving skills.</li><li>Ability to be flexible in managing multiple tasks with changing priorities.</li></ul> <br><br>Please enable JavaScript<br><br><b>Screen readers cannot read the following searchable map.</b><br><br>Follow this link to reach our Job Search page to search for available jobs in a more accessible format.
