The Hedgehogs are a multi-disciplinary scrum team that designs, builds, and supports the best power metering products in the world. As a member of the Hedgehogs, you would join a collaborative, energetic and passionate team with global reach. Description of the Position As a Hedgehogs team member, your work is planned in 3-week sprints in alignment with business needs and in collaboration with team members, Scrum Master and Product Owner. Your sprint commitment will be maintained at a sustainable level, supported by your Scrum Master. The prime objective of Hedgehogs is to deliver business value. We achieve this end goal by maintaining existing products and releasing new ones. As a member of the team, you contribute with your areas of competency in addition to learning new skills. The desired areas of competency are not prescriptive, and are better illustrated as problem scenarios below: The manufacturing plant is unable to buy an electrical component. This risk was escalated to Hedgehogs through the Supply Chain team. We recognize that servicing our plants and maintaining our ability to sell product is our top priority as a team, so we decide to shift focus mid-sprint to address the risk. To help the team with our priority, you are able to find and evaluate component options, develop a recommendation, host a review with a team member and pass it on the Release Coordinator to finalize the release. We have a long-term ambition to update key components on an existing product. The effort is multi-year and affects 80% of the electrical design and assemblies in the product. To help the team with this ambition, you are responsible for the electrical design of an assembly or function. You select components, create the schematic, consult with your Layout team member to create the PCB, and execute developer tests on the prototype. You make changes to the electrical design based on the results of the dev tests, and you consult on results from product level test. You consult with the Industrialization team to help them design the test fixtures and determine the production test conditions. A customer request for a small feature or performance spec clarification becomes a priority. You look at your backlog for the sprint and realize that you could push some lower priority tasks to support the customer request. You may or may not have the performed this test in the past, but you’re interested to try something new. The test involves using environmental chambers, voltage and current sources, and a reference. You make your suggestion to reprioritize your sprint backlog to the Scrum Master and Product Owner. Additionally, opportunities will arise in alignment with your expertise or areas of interest. During the sprint planning ceremony, you can ask to take these opportunities in the capacity that helps the team. The Hedgehogs team supports a broad range of products, so the future of our backlog is often difficult to predict. What is certain: the backlog will evolve to the needs to the business.
