Lead Administrator

Primary Skill: RedHat/Oracle Linux OS Administration Roles and Responsibilities: Install, Administer, maintain and 24/7 support of Linux Systems for Oracle, Non-Oracle Apps & DB workloads. Perform routine system maintenance and resolve Linux server-side issues as they arise. Daily health check & Proactively monitoring the system performance all Linux servers . Troubleshooting for boot, performance, network related issues. Maintain security and OS patch management for Linux based systems. Install and maintain agents on servers for centralized monitoring and management. Update documentation on current environment and prepare SOPs as when required. Manage and maintain currently supported and subsequent Linux based Operating Systems (OS) on physical and virtual operating environments. Perform OS and application upgrades and server migration support to new environment Utilize Linux scripting to optimize and automate system administrator tasks. Provide technical support for disaster recovery efforts (actual or simulated). Perform hardware and software technology refreshes & migrating the workloads. Work with and manage Incident Management tickets within ticketing system. Perform all security/compliance functions for Linux server environments. Support for back-up/recovery functions for Linux server environments. Support for VMWare / Hyper-V virtual environment hosting Linux VMs. Resolve major incidents and technical escalations within agreed SLAs and quality. Problem Management: Perform root cause analysis for problems and major incidents, provide workarounds to ensure business continuity and prepare RCA reports. Change Management: Prepare Implementation plan, rollback plan and test plan, risk and impact analysis for critical or complex changes. Oracle Spacewalk Server Administration & OS Patching. Coordinating and interfacing with outside vendors, end users, other department team members, and service providers to resolve issues. Respond to outages & requests both during normal business hours and after-hours on a need basis . Proactively monitoring system performance and capacity planning. Administration NFS,FTP,SFTP Services & users. Participation in additional duties as needed during the projects. Administration of HPE Hardware Enclosure, Virtual Connect, Blade & DL Servers. Key Competencies Required: Technical Proficient Experience in RHEL or Oracle Linux 6,7,8 administration. Concepts of LVM/RAID/Multi-Pathing/NFS/DNS/FTP should be clear. Server Performance Analysis & troubleshooting skills with various tools & utilities. Satellite / Spacewalk Server & client Administration. Knowledge on HPE Hardware Enclosure, Blade DL Server & Virtual Connect. Virtualization – VMware & Hyper-V basic understanding. Knowledge on HPE 3Par Storage & Commvault Backup tool is desired. Experience : 6-9 Years
