Instrument Technician

<b> Overview / Responsibilities </b><br><br><b>Job title: Instrument Technician</b> <br><br> <b>Location: Cramlington </b> <br> <b>Duration: 6 month </b> <br><br>Wood is currently recruiting for a COMPEX certified Instrument Technician to provide commissioning support to a Pharmaceutical project at Cramlington <br><br><b>Duties will include</b> <br><br>&bull; Installation and commissioning of full loops and instrumentation <br><br> &bull; End to end loop commissioning <br><br> &bull; Ability to follow plans to achieve milestones <br><br> &bull; Fault finding and fix on process equipment, all types and style of digital and analogue instrumentation <br><br> &bull; Ability to complete instrument calibrations following procedures <br><br> &bull; Typical systems to work on waste water treatment and anaerobic digestors <br><br> &bull; Ability to understand control loops and work with automation engineers when problem solving and commissioning support <br><br><b>Experience:</b> <br><br>&bull; Knowledge of hydrocarbon/Industrial production systems and associated hazards <br><br> &bull; Good understanding of process instrumentation <br><br> &bull; Good knowledge of process control systems <br><br> &bull; Good knowledge of fire and gas detection and ESD systems <br><br> &bull; Clear understanding of cause and effect logic diagrams <br><br> &bull; Fully familiar with the permit to work system and isolation procedures <br><br><b> Skills / Qualifications </b><br><br><b>Skills/Qualifications </b> <br><br><b>Essential:</b> <br><br> &bull; Recognised Instrument Apprenticeship or equivalent training scheme <br><br> &bull; HNC in Control/ Instrumentation Engineering (Post 2009 apprenticeships) <br><br> &bull; NVQ/SVQ Level 3 certification or equivalent in Maintenance <br><br> &bull; COMPEX (Hazardous Areas) units -01 to 04 <br><br> &bull; CCNSG Safety Passport <br><br><b>Desirable:</b> <br><br> &bull; ISSOW <br><br> &bull; Pressure hydro testing certificate <br><br> &bull; TSBT01&02 (to be completed as post mobilisation training on a 3 yearly refresher) <br><br><b> Company Overview </b><br><br>Wood is a global leader in engineering and consultancy across energy and the built environment, helping to unlock solutions to some of the world's most critical challenges.
