Industrial Designer

Schneider Electric Australia is seeking a creative Industrial Designer to be based in the “Pacific Design Lab” in the sleek digital offices at our Gepps Cross location in Adelaide, South Australia. As the Industrial Designer, you will report to the Asia Pacific Design Team Director. You will be an experienced Designer who is self-directed, highly creative and possess both a strong aesthetic sense and a technical culture. The Designers Mission / Scope of Responsibility Lead industrial design projects from/within Pacific’s Schneider Electric entities Carry the design projects which have been confided to the design lab (concept, project, mock-up) under the responsibility of the Director Organise and accompany the projects outsourced to external design agencies Translate user requirements, technical realities, brand attributes and business needs into compelling products Implement the rules of our brand design Diffuse and survey the implementation of our design charters. Bring creativity to project teams. Produce mock-up and test models in a variety of materials Coordinate deliverables and schedules Participate in design reviews, presenting the key projects of the design lab. Maintain contact and work with the other design labs within the group. Infuse design practice within company culture What We Seek From You Experience leading leading product design projects Proven strength in building and maintain relationships across project teams / geographies Excellent visualisation skills with hand and digital sketching Knowledge of common manufacturing processes Understand the product development cycle Exceptional 3D CAD Skills (Rhino preferred) and a knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite Curious and passionate about the field of design - and this infects others with passion for design too Bachelors Degree, or Equivalent, in Design, or from a Design School Let Us Learn More About You, Apply Today!
