Provide material support to other products when required. </li><li> Carry out new materials research and product development projects with a focus on welding, metal and alloys, coatings, heat treatment, and corrosion mitigation. </li><li> Develop welding setup best practices, establish welding procedures, and determine the key welding process control parameters for the applicable types of welding technologies </li><li> Investigate new materials, lead process improvement or value engineering projects. </li><li> Prepare materials specifications and procedures including but not limited to: metals, alloys, heat treatment, welding, coatings, casting, etc. </li><li> Perform failure investigations on a variety of products from field failures or production issues to identify failure characteristics, failure modes, root causes and contributing factors and corrective actions. </li><li> Provide technical and product support to product line and operations. </li><li> Represent Engineering to provide NCR dispositions. Work with Manufacturing and Quality departments in reviewing NCRs and provide troubleshooting recommendations </li><li> Actively participate in company safety and environmental procedures and programs and identified workplace personal protective equipment requirement. </li><li> Other duties as required. </li></ul> <br><br><b> Qualifications </b><br><br><ul><li> <b> Education: </b> </li></ul><br> Engineering degree with Materials, Metallurgical or Mechanical specialization (eligible for registration as a Professional Engineer). <br><br> Or diploma and solid work experience in above areas. <br><br><ul><li> <b> Knowledge/Experience: </b> </li></ul><br> Minimum of 3-5 years' experience in either a R&D or a product development environment with experience in welding, non-destructive testing, corrosion and mechanical testing of materials. <br><br> Strong knowledge of metallurgy, welding, corrosion engineering and mitigation, and metal wear mechanisms. <br><br> Strong knowledge of materials specifications development and standards. <br><br> Training and practical application of root cause failure analysis techniques. <br><br> Artificial lift systems experience in progressing cavity pump and reciprocating rod lift design an asset. <br><ul><li> <b> Skills: </b> <br> Strong technical reporting and writing skills.<br>Strong problem-solving skills. </li></ul><br> Project management experience and skills. <br><br> Proficient use of Microsoft Office software. <br><br><ul><li> <b> Personal Suitability: </b> </li></ul><br> Detail orientated, team player, reliable and highly motivated. <br><br> Self-starter and multi-tasking.<br>Strong communication skills and demonstrated professionalism.
