The Opportunity: Due to continued growth there exists an exciting opportunity for an experienced Business Development Manager to join our Sales team, based out of our Melbourne Office. Reporting directly to the General Manager Sales, the key aim of this critical role will be to work closely with clients to strategically design energy management plans which drive efficiencies for the client and grow the services delivered by Schneider Electric’s Sustainability Business Key responsibilities for this role include, but are not limited to: A proven track record with solution selling in either the energy industry, service industry or selling to industrial and/or commercial clients; experience and knowledge from working within the energy industry is advantageous Be resilient to adapt to an ever-evolving marketplace of offerings Identify prospects that match the profile of Schneider Electric in the Energy & Sustainability Services space Work as a true hunter, with a proven ability to generate and follow up on leads by making contact with prospects and creating interest in Schneider’s offerings Communicate and interact with business decision makers at all levels to identify needs and requirements as well as market opportunities Professional writing skills Demonstrated success in building longstanding relationships Lead and move prospects through the sales cycle. Negotiate and close sales that vary in contract length and fee range Being comfortable in applying a consultative approach to the sales process Close an agreed upon number of sales and revenue per year Maintain prospect (CRM) database information Utilisation of internal resources ensuring the effective coordination of client meetings, presentation preparation and delivery to all levels of the client’s organization Short listing for these opportunities will require the following skills, attribute and qualifications: Degree complemented excellent customer service experience in direct customer interface role i.e. sales or client relationship role within a service environment Experience with energy management and sustainability either as an end user or consultant Existing knowledge of the energy industry and a proven track record of generating or leading energy related opportunities for an end user Persistence in follow up of leads and movement of prospects through the sales cycle Interfacing and presenting to all management levels at ASX 100, large private companies and government organisations.
