The opportunity: KPMG is seeking a skilled, dynamic, entrepreneurial person to join the Economy and Policy Advisory Consulting team, a person who has an excellent work record, strong analytical, writing and communication skills along with demonstrated teamwork abilities. This candidate will work as part of a dynamic, experienced team providing economy, policy and strategy advice to clientele operating in the public, private and non-profit sectors and will assist in carrying out a variety of projects, including: Market research and industry analyses; Economic impact studies; Economic development strategies; Public policy analysis; Strategic planning exercises; Foreign direct investment analyses; Business plan preparation. You will be called to: Contribute to key initiatives related to Canada’s, Ontario’s and Atlantic Canada’s economic development; Support companies and various types of organizations with their decision-making process as it relates to strategic considerations impacting their growth and development. What you will do Work on qualitative and quantitative analysis related to local, national and international economic issues, involving statistics, partially structured interviews, discussion groups and literature reviews. Summarize studies and broad findings in the form of presentations and reports well expressed in excellent English and/or French using Word and PowerPoint. Support the growth of the firm and the practice by taking part in various intellectual initiatives. Develop models and statistical tools to guide decision-making processes for a broad array of organizations. What you bring to the role 2 to 4 years of relevant professional experience involving knowledge of the economy. Ability to obtain Government of Canada Security Clearance Excellent graduate record showing knowledge of the economy. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong ability and willingness to manage a broad range of projects in a deadline-driven environment. Maturity, confidence, creativity and a strong entrepreneurial drive. Ability to solve problems with confidence and creativity. Advanced skills with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel. Previous experience in advisory services and/or consulting, an asset. Knowledge of one or more statistical packages (Stata, R, Python, etc.), an asset. Professional proficiency in French, an asset. *Candidates are asked to provide a cover letter, a writing sample and a copy of their transcript of records.
