Schneider Electric is looking for a Product Certification Engineer to join our team. You will work closely with other R&D engineers and be accountable for product compliance with regulatory and industry requirements. The ideal candidate for this position has demonstrated interests in instrumentation and controls and be capable of performing in a highly technical work environment. Responsibilities Interpreting current standards to establish development criteria Helping develop new products to comply with standards Working with the product development teams to obtain certificates for parts and systems within required time frames Participating in engineering and certification tests, validating results Preparing and obtaining compliance certificates within the required time frames Build and maintain certification plans and supervise quotation/estimation process Participate to safety reviews and committees, organize and lead certification reviews Keep up to date with standards and regulatory matters Contribute to environmental compliance (RoHS/REACH) and corporate sustainability practices Collaborate with technical leaders and product management to define mission profiles and product specifications Consider the cross-functional requirements to complete components / sub-assemblies product / system specifications Experience/Education Requirements Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering (or equivalent) and minimum of five years of relevant experience Demonstrated Leadership experience Ability to summarize and explain in plain language various technical specifications Understanding of EMC Compliance, FCC regulation, RF Engineering Experience working within the testing/certification industry, knowledge of the National Electric Code and test methods under CSA, UL, EN/IEC, and other standards Experience working with diverse teams (engineering, product management, marketing) Possess the ability to read and understand policies, regulations, and standards Mandatory bilingualism, written and spoken (English/French) - The teams for which this employee will collaborate with are located in the US, China and Sweden. In addition, this person will be responsible for communication and liaison between several stakeholders: our Canadian and US employees, our foreign suppliers and manufacturers, and the design teams.
