Director, Finance & strategy

Director Finance & Strategy POSITION SUMMARY: This is a leadership position that requires subject matter expertise in financial controllership including strategic planning / budgeting, financial accounting / administration including the integrity of the function's financials. The position is responsible for developing and implementing global finance practices and must lead the strategic development and assessment of global finance protocol and frameworks that influence business decisions. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Work with the functional leads, regional, brand, corporate finance, demand planning in those entities to develop the vision, processes, procedures, master data and reporting requirements to support the key strategic initiatives of the Brand. The position must drive and coordinate the processes that they are involved in / responsible for and be proactive in planning the sales opportunities and investments. Design and implement tools, processes, standards and frameworks, to facilitate P&L control and transparency relating key department responsibilities. Take a leadership role in coordinating many disciplines and entities to achieve the group's strategic and financial objectives. The position has global responsibility for managing and directing resources and activities in support of achieving strategic, operational and financial results of the function. The position requires a pro-active approach and superb customer service and collaboration; must cultivate and maintain effective working relationships with functional leaders and their teams as well as the Brands, Affiliates, Regions and Functional groups. This person must have the ability to lead and guide the functional leadership teams on appropriate financial, master data and reporting controls and disciplines, be an integral part of the functional team's core decision making process and make recommendations to ensure corporate strategy, productivity and spending guidelines are measured and achieved. Lead and develop in-depth analyses - as an example, Sell in Sell Out, gross margin analysis, challenge COGS develop ROI analysis. Provide and challenge the performance variance versus previous year or plan on a monthly basis. Interface and communicate with other support department: accounting or demand planning Ensure internal control environment is reviewed and maintained. Consider and implement process improvements to enhance the control environment. Manage a team of 3 persons. Prepare ad-hoc analysis as requested by functional or finance leadership. Qualifications Finance degree and 12 to15+ years relevant experience in finance, strategic support/business development and process development/implementation. Prior experience in external audit is a plus Proven problem solving capabilities offering alternatives identifying risks and opportunities. Strong communication, negotiation and presentation skills. Excellent interpersonal skills required. Ability to explain, at a high level, objectives, goals and variances to both financial and non-financial Senior Management. Strong analytical skills and ability to make sound business decisions. Experienced with the application of performance metric reporting. Ability to work under pressure of tight deadlines and multitask. Strong Excel capabilities, strong data management, and working knowledge of financial systems (Oracle, SAP, Hyperion).
