Soldering Technician Intern

PFC Flexible Circuits, a division of OSI Optoelectronics, has an internship opportunitie for a college student pursuing a diploma/degree in electronics or a related field. The selected candidate will have a solid academic background, effective communication and interpersonal skills, and be able to work in a fast-paced and dynamic industry. Responsibilities With the guidance and support of our PFC team, the Soldering Technician Intern will: Read electrical schematics, blueprints, and other technical diagrams. Connect cables, tubes and wires to complete assemblies and installations. Position and install parts, subassemblies and accessories using hand and power tools and other aids like overhead hoists. Mark, record and report defects. Solder and assemble products using small hand tools, power tools, and other equipment. Perform testing, packing, and closing of products. Test electrical assemblies, equipment and wiring for proper performance using testing devices such as meters, analyzers, and timing lights. Clean and perform preparation of worksite. Incoming material inspection and reporting. Perform inventory counts Able to work independently and as part of a team. Qualifications Qualifying individuals must be enrolled in college during the 2022 academic school year and be in good standing and pursuing a degree in engineering or a related field. Experience with the following is a plus: Electronic background/experience is an asset. Knowledge of workplace safety and safe lifting and handling procedures. Ability to operate required equipment in a safe and responsible manner. Effective verbal communication and listening skills. Familiarity with electrical schematics, blueprints, and other technical diagrams. Critical eye for identifying defects. Commitment to quality and safety.
