Engineering Specialist (Piping, Static and Rotating Equipment)

<p>Job Description</p>

<p>As a recognized company expert in his field of engineering discipline, the incumbent provides professional advice and guidance regarding operational processes, equipment or techniques, facility designs and solutions. As a subject-matter expert incumbent will represent UR in dealings with design firms, vendors and/or manufacturers, where expert instrumentation engineering advice is required. Responsible for maintaining and incorporating new cost-effective solutions in design through the Company Standards and Design Best Practices. Incumbent will also be responsible for leading the team to develop inhouse design for modification/upgrade to UR operating facilities.<br />
Primary role is to review the overall Control and Instrumentation activities and participate in the design engineering, project construction, Factory and Site Acceptance Testing (FAT and SAT), material inspection, pre-commissioning and commissioning activities.<br />
Provide expertise to come up with engineering solutions for new projects, develop control system architecture, control system equipment (DCS, ESD &amp; SCADA) specification requirements with company stake holders. Ensure the reliable and secure operation of the process automation system infrastructure. Plant systems and networks for error-free and secure operation and acceptable performance.<br />
Develop business case and benefit/cost analysis for Digital Plant solutions.<br />
Conduct optimization studies to come up with new solutions for the field measurements/metering using new technologies.<br />
Perform/conduct/participate in Hazop/SIL for in house design works.<br />
Provide expert advice and assistance to the Unconventional Resources, outside vendors, manufacturers, and design firms on matters relating to his area of expertise.<br />
Work on or with Task Forces assigned to investigate incidents or solve specific problems. Perform cost analysis and value engineering studies as appropriate. Undertake special assignments requiring extensive technical experience and discretion when dealing with outside organizations.<br />
Act as a professional mentor to senior engineers and young engineers.</p>

<p>Qualification &amp; Experience</p>

<p>B.S. degree in Instrumentation &amp; process control engineering. An M.S. or Ph.D. degree in Engineering or other advanced professional engineering degree is highly desirable. A Professional Engineer (P.E.) license or registration is highly desirable</p>

Twenty years of professional experience, including at least 10 years as an engineer in charge of technical work in his field of specialty. Incumbent will normally have achieved industry recognition through activities in professional societies and industrial organizations, such as Field Safety Engineer, CSFE professional, IChemE Professional Process safety Engineer and others.</p>
