<b> Overview / Responsibilities </b><br><br>Wood currently has an exciting opportunity available for a <b>Junior Project Manager </b>to work on various <b>Materials</b>, <b>Transportation and Municipal Infrastructure</b> related work. If you have a 3 or more years of experience in materials testing, surveying or construction fieldwork, we will provide you the training to take the next step in your career. <br><br>Successful candidates must be based in the Peace Region of Alberta (Grimshaw, Grande Prairie, etc) and will work throughout the region. We are seeking a motivated candidate who combines strong technical skills a keen ability to be organized and keep things moving along to schedule. Having spent a few years on project sites actually doing the work, you've started learning what works and what doesn't work and want to be able to start having some say in how to move things forward. <br><br>The role includes training in items such as coordination and planning, providing multi-disciplinary team direction, contract/work force administration, safety/incident management, quality and change management. <br><br>The result: you'll always be able to keep yourself busy: either doing technical work or acting as a project manager. <br><br>Day to day work could include office and field duties as follows: <br><ul><li> Project coordination and management - both field and office </li><li> Liaise with senior project managers to coordinate effective work plans </li><li> Manage projects, including Change Management, Quality, Scheduling, Budgets, etc. </li><li> Coordination of detailed design and design reviews by appropriate staff </li><li> Preparation of tender documents and contract preparation & administration </li><li> Provide construction support as required to support the project team </li><li> Materials testing of concrete, aggregates and asphalt </li><li> Liaise with existing clients, involvement with proposals and project presentations </li><li> Develop new business opportunities for continued business growth </li></ul> <br><br><b> Skills / Qualifications </b><br><br><ul><li> Technical Diploma in one of the following areas: Materials Testing, Civil Engineering Technology, Construction Management Technology, or Surveying/Geomatics. </li><li> Consideration will also be given to people who have multiple years of industry experience (on the job skills) in a related role. </li><li> 3 or more years of technical experience working on construction sites (roads, infrastructure, etc) </li><li> Familiarity with Transportation and/or Municipal Infrastructure Standards (ie: City of Edmonton, Alberta Transportation, BC MoTI, etc.) would be a definite asset </li><li> Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional and interdisciplinary teams </li><li> Ability to communicate effectively, both verbal and written at multiple levels of an organization. Strong writing skills. </li><li> Experience with Site Safety management is considered an asset </li><li> Unrestricted Class 5 driver's license valid in the province of Alberta </li><li> Ability and willingness to go to the field (or a site) for up to 1 week at a time </li><li> Desire to provide exceptional client service and a commitment to technical excellence. </li></ul><br><br><b> Company Overview </b><br><br>Wood is a global leader in engineering and consultancy across energy and the built environment, helping to unlock solutions to some of the world's most critical challenges.
