<div class="mds-edited-text mds-font-body-copy-bulk"><p>EDUCATION SECTOR - GRADUATE OPPORTUNITIES</p><p>Special Education Needs - Mental Health Support - Social Health Support - Learning Support - Teaching Assistant</p><p>Recently graduated and looking for work in the education sector or heading for a career in clinical psychology?</p><p>If you have a Degree in Psychology or Criminology, experience working with young people that have social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) issues gives you highly valued exposure to and involvement with children who are vulnerable and potentially susceptible to crime.</p><p>Children with SEMH have severe difficulties in managing their emotions and behaviour and often show inappropriate responses and feelings to situations.</p><p>This means that they have trouble in building and maintaining relationships with peers and adults; struggle to engage with learning and coping in the classroom and often feel anxious, scared and misunderstood.</p><p>Your role would be to support children, encouraging and advocating for them while using therapy interventions for pupils that will help them with communication and social skills, accessing technology, and learning life skills. You would also be involved in supporting pupils on outings and activities, encouraging them to interact with each other and with adults in a responsible way.</p><p>You would be working Monday to Friday from around 08.30am to 3.30 / 4.00pm for between £70 and £80 per day (on a contract or permanent basis), and a contract role can become permanent with the commensurate salary and benefits.
