Piping Materials Engineer

<b> Overview / Responsibilities </b><br><br>Wood is currently recruiting for a Piping Materials Piping Engineer with extensive experience in the Oil & Gas, Petrochemical or similar sector of the industry to provide support to our Client in the execution of projects. <br><br>Key Accountabilites & Responsibilities: <br><ul><li> Have a thorough understanding of project requirements in the field of piping specifications e.g. exotic material requirements, suitability and design principles of components etc. </li><li> Specialist knowledge and understanding in: <ul><li> Piping Reference data </li><li> MSD's (Material Selection Diagrams) </li><li> DPTD's (Design Pressure Temperature Design Diagrams) </li><li> Development of pipe specifications </li><li> Generation of pipe classes </li><li> Development of TBE's </li><li> Codes for design of piping components as well as testing methods </li></ul></li><li> Will be representing piping materials and specifications on projects. </li><li> Specialist engineer who works unsupervised. </li><li> Will anticipate problems before they occur and seek to manage problems in a controlled and analytical manner to the satisfactory of all main parties. </li><li> Prepare requisition index for special piping items, indicating planned issue date for each requisition. Update and reissue monthly. </li><li> Prepare general notes requisitions or purchasing requirements for piping. </li><li> Review flowsheets for correctness of depicting piping and material. </li><li> Generate piping bulk requisitions from MTO. </li><li> Generate special piping item requisitions. </li><li> Prepare technical bid analysis for piping bulks as well as special piping items. </li><li> Check piping bulk technical evaluations from MTO. </li><li> Prepare SOQ from the MTO. </li><li> Assist Procurement Department with the expediting of supplier documents. </li><li> Advise the Chief Piping Engineer of any technical problems and unresolved differences with other groups. </li><li> Co-ordinate with Procurement Department and ensure certified drawings are available in time to meet the engineering schedules. </li><li> Advise the Project Lead Piping Engineer of circumstances considered to be subject to contract change. </li></ul> <br><br><b> Skills / Qualifications </b><br><br><b> Qualifications: </b><br><ul><li> BSc, BEng, BTech </li><li> 5 Year minimum experience </li></ul><br><b> Knowledge, skills and experience: </b><br><ul><li> Preference - SmartPlant Reference Data </li></ul><br><b> Personal attributes: </b><br><ul><li> Initiative - Grasps new or unfamiliar concepts quickly and can effectively deal with complexity and ambiguity.
