Customer Application Engineering Specialist

<p>This is an operational role responsible for providing robust data logging and Internet connectivity solutions in the deployment and delivery of the Suez cloud-based InSight Asset Performance Management (APM) platform in Engineered Systems (ES) projects. InSight combines advanced data and analytics to help water treatment professionals make better business decisions, eliminate unplanned downtime and lower operating costs.<br />
<br />
<b>Essential Functions:</b><br />
<br />
Connect new and retrofit water treatment plants to InSight. Work with Suez internal and external customers to establish data logging and transmission method in each project.</p>

<ul>
<li>Build InSight accounts and establish lists of process parameters that are key to the operations of the water filtration plants by utilizing project engineering documents such as Process and Instrumentation Diagram (P&amp;ID), Control Logic Chart (CLC), PLC code and HMI code. Follow SRC department quality procedures and Suez process asset models to ensure InSight account configuration adheres to the Suez SRC standard.</li>
<li>Being part of the broader project execution team, the candidate is required with work with other functional teams within Suez such as sales, application engineering, process engineering, electrical engineering, automation engineering and commissioning</li>
<li>Collaborate with Suez Field Service Representatives (FSRs), site operators and/or customer IT personnel to configure Human-machine interface (HMI) or Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) to log the required data/parameters from the plant PLCs</li>
<li>Work with process analysts, technical support engineers, programming engineers, site operators and/or customer IT personnel to troubleshoot and resolve data logging and/or transmission issues</li>
<li>Regularly provide team efficiency related continuous improvement ideas to the SRC manager. Once the idea is accepted, design, execute and implement the proposed improvement.</li>

<b>Minimum Qualifications: </b></p>

<ul>
<li>Bachelor&
39;s Degree or College Diploma in Automation, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or Information Technology from an accredited university or college</li>
<li>Strong customer service and/or technical support experience</li>
<li>Must be able to work on and manage multiple projects simultaneously at any given time</li>
<li>Experience in helping customers to troubleshoot data logging and Internet connectivity issues</li>
<li>Working knowledge of connectivity platform such as OPC servers, industrial networking protocols</li>
<li>Knowledge of SCADA networks and Industrial networking protocols such as TCP, UDP, TCP/IP, Modbus, EthernetIP, Profinet</li>
<li>Ability to read and understand basic PLC and/or HMI codes (Rockwell, GE and Siemens)</li>
<li>Ability to understand network architecture drawings, electrical engineering drawings and P&amp;ID&
39;s</li>
<li>Basic knowledge of engineering dimensions and conversions</li>
<li>Desire to work in a collaborative and supportive environment</li>
<li>Self-motivated and yet be able to work effectively in a team setting to drive projects to completion</li>
<li>Excellent problem-solving skill</li>
<li>Willingness to help other team members when needed</li>
<li>Possess a win-as-a-team attitude</li>
<li>Demonstrated good interpersonal communication (verbal and written) and leadership skills</li>
<li>Experience working in a fast pace environment</li>

<li>Basic knowledge in data analytics</li>
<li>Coding skills in one or more programming language such as Python/VB.NET/Java</li>
<li>Working knowledge of operating systems such as Windows and Linux</li>
<li>Knowledge of Microsoft SQL server and Oracle database</li>
<li>Experience working as a system integrator</li>
<li>Knowledge of water filtration technologies</li>
<li>Driven, confident and willing to learn</li>
<li>Self-motivated, ability to work independently with minimal guidance</li>
<li>Previous experience in customer service or technical helpdesk</li>
<li>Ability to speak conversational French, Spanish or Portuguese is a bonus but not required</li>
