Electrical & Instrumentation Designer

<b> Overview / Responsibilities </b><br><br>Wood is currently seeking an <b>Electrical & Instrumentation Designer </b> in order to grow its Perth Mining & Minerals group to meet the large demand in critical metals projects. <br><br>Wood is at the forefront of engineering solutions for a net zero future. A key component of decarbonising the world is the Mining and Minerals Industry which supplies the critical minerals required for this revolution. Wood is currently delivering critical metals projects (Battery and Magnet metals) all over the world, including Copper, Lithium, Vanadium, Rare Earths, and Base Metals projects. <br><br>We can offer you a career in the ever-expanding battery and magnet metals industry driving the decarbonisation of the globe . You will deliver best practice across Electrical and Instrumentation design and documentation. <br><br>Your key responsibilities of the role will include, but are not limited to: <br><ul><li> Delivering best practice E&I design and documentation in alignment with the Company organisational and Client requirements </li><li> Participate in design reviews </li><li> Ensure that design activities are performed within allocated project budgets and time constraints to ensure tasks are delivered on time and in a cost-effective manner </li><li> Maintain and apply a working knowledge of design standards and codes </li><li> Ensure that all design deliverables have been prepared, checked and approved in accordance with the Company Quality Assurance system and drafting procedures </li><li> Work in conjunction with other Discipline Designers, Engineers and supervisors to support engineering project delivery </li><li> Readily take ownership of discipline design commitments and requirements on the project </li></ul> <br><br><b> Skills / Qualifications </b><br><br>What will set you apart from other applicants will be your previous experience at an engineering company having worked on large mining projects. You will also have: <br><ul><li> 3+ years experience in Electrical / Instrumentation design </li><li> Strong knowledge in applying relevant Electrical / Instrumentation industry design practices and key national and international standards and codes. </li><li> Good written, verbal and presentation skills, particularly the ability to communicate discipline requirements to other members of the project team </li><li> Ability to deliver best practice design and drafting, with emphasis on cost-effective design </li><li> Good attention to detail </li><li> Competency in Microstation and/or AutoCAD </li><li> Competency in 3D Design tools </li><li> Knowledge of and exposure to key Clients in Mining & Minerals </li></ul><br> Please note, only applicants holding valid working rights in Australia will be considered.
