Deck Foreman

<p><strong>Job Summary</strong></p>

<p>Oversee the Crane Crew and coordinate the daily handling and distribution of materials as well as cargo loading and unloading.</p>

<p>Due to the local nationalization plan, this position is open to citizens and residents of Angola.</p>

<p>&nbsp;</p>

<p><strong>Experience</strong></p>

<p>Two (2) or more years as a certified Crane Operator with prior offshore experience preferred.</p>

<p>&nbsp;</p>

<p><strong>Education and Training</strong></p>

<p>High School diploma required. Additionally, must meet the training and certification requirements which will vary by unit location according to local requirements and regulations. Specific unit requirements will be found in local job specification procedures and guidelines. Must have current Crane Operator certification. Certification as HLO, proficiency in Survival Craft and Able Seaman is preferred.</p>

<p><strong>Minimum Requirements</strong></p>

<p>Demonstrate and conduct behavior in line with Valaris vision and core values, and Valaris Management System (VMS).</p>

<p>Demonstrates understanding and is proactive regarding STOP program objectives.</p>

<p>Encourage awareness and actively participate in STOP program.</p>

<p>Must have the ability to initiate and promote Stop Work Authority.</p>

<p>Must be willing to notify direct supervisor of any unsafe acts, safety violations or potential safety violations.</p>

<p>Compliance with Valaris training, certification and competence requirements.</p>

<p>Physically capable of performing Emergency Response team Duties as per MODU Station Bill.</p>

<p><strong>Principal Duties and Responsibilities</strong></p>

<p>Responsible for own safety as well as that of the crew.</p>

<p>Attend and participate in all pre-tour, post tour and weekly safety meetings.</p>

<p>Demonstrate and Promote Safety Leadership for team members.</p>

<p>Inspect and train Crane crew to inspect safety apparatus and equipment.</p>

<p>Understands and adheres to correct lock-out, tag-out procedures.</p>

<p>Ensure all lifts are within load limits of equipment and are correctly rigged, and lifting gear is properly color coded prior to use.</p>

<p>Assist in the orientation and training of new Roustabouts regarding helicopter safety, high noise area safety, appliance use, lifeboat assignment, general alarm, etc.</p>

<p>Assist in organizing, planning and monitoring the work of the Crane Crew.</p>

<p>Oversee the inspection of slings, cables, straps and the crane structure prior to lifting operations.</p>

<p>Oversee preventive maintenance as required to ensure safe and continual service of the cranes.</p>

<p>Ensure activities are conducted in compliance with Valaris Safe Systems of Work (SSOW).</p>

<p>Ensure crane crew is in compliance with Valaris Management System (VMS) pertaining to the safe and efficient deck management of the MODU.</p>

<p>Assist in corporate and regulatory body inspections.</p>

<p>Maintain up to date Crane record books.</p>

<p>Monitors sea and weather conditions for safe loading and unloading.</p>
