<p><strong>Location:</strong> Andover, Hampshire - with flexible, hybrid working options, <strong>or a fully remote option available</strong></p>

<p><strong>Hours of Work: </strong>Part-time; 30 hours per week (pref. 2 days in office p/w; negotiable)</p>

<p><strong>Contract: </strong>Fixed Term Contract - 3 months; potential extension thereafter</p>

<p><strong>Salary: </strong>£40-42,000 (FTE) per annum dependent on experience</p>

<p>Charity People are delighted to be working with a wonderful charity that provides support across Hampshire: supporting people with mental ill health as well as adult carers, who care for an adult, and people living with dementia and mild cognitive impairment.</p>

<p>This is a fabulous opportunity to join this incredible team on a 3-month FTC, to assist them at this busy point in the year; the focus up until the middle of August would be on costings and budget completion, with a new service contract starting in September following on from a successful tender bid. A varied role!</p>

<p><strong>JOB PURPOSE:</strong></p>
<p> </p>
<p>This leading charity's mission is to empower anyone with or at risk of experiencing a mental health issue and all carers to access the right advice, information and support. They campaign to improve services, raise awareness and promote understanding of mental health. The Finance Manager plays a key part in their Senior Leadership team, preparing, developing and analysing management accounting information. The role includes managing the Finance Officer in overseeing the completion of all financial tasks, and leading the finance team in delivering great service.</p>

<p><strong>KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:</strong></p>
<p> </p>
<p>Financial planning</p>
<ul>
<li>Preparing the annual budget and managing the review process through to Board approval.</li>
<li>Undertaking periodic forecasts and stress tests of expenditures, to ensure operational efficiency and identification of areas for improving activity based costs.</li>
<li>Preparing financial analysis and summary for events such as the Annual General Meeting and Business Plan.</li>
<li>To lead on financial input and pricing schedules relating to tender bids.</li>
<li>Supporting the preparation of fundraising bids with statutory and grant making bodies.</li>
<li>Identify where expenditure and costs can be improved.</li>
</ul>

<p> </p>
<p>Financial management</p>
<ul>
<li>Operating effective systems and procedures to ensure compliance with all financial control policies and actively participating and contributing to relevant policy reviews.</li>
<li>Specific areas of focus will include:</li>
</ul>
<p>o Raising invoices for services</p>
<p>o Oversight of the process for invoices and expenses o Managing payments, debtors and creditors to ensure strong liquidity and cash flow</p>
<p>o Completing payroll submission and liaising with accountants as required</p>
<ul>
<li>Reviewing monthly management accounts and engaging with the Treasurer, CEO and management team regarding any areas of concern or overspend.</li>
<li>Ensure compliance with all relevant financial statutory and regulatory matters.</li>
</ul>
<p> </p>
<p>External stakeholder relationships</p>
<ul>
<li>Managing the relationship with Andover Mind's external accountants, ensuring that monthly:</li>
</ul>
<p>o management accounts are accurate and available for timely review;</p>
<p>o payroll is accurate and staff payments made on time; and</p>
<p>o pension contribution payments to the pension provider are accurate and made on time</p>
<ul>
<li>Acting as Andover Mind's central point of contact with the pension provider and broker to manage ad hoc questions or concerns from staff.</li>
<li>Ability to create and maintain complex spreadsheets.</li>
<li>Assisting with the external statutory audit process and engaging with the auditors to provide all required information.</li>
</ul>

<p>Working with the team</p>
<ul>
<li>Presenting at evening meetings of the Board or Finance Sub-committee as requested by CEO.</li>
<li>Developing a positive environment and awareness of finance matters across the community.</li>
<li>Answering colleague queries on payroll and pension matters.</li>
<li>Work alongside members on a day-to-day basis and support community events.</li>
</ul>

<p><strong>DESIRABLE:</strong></p>
<p> </p>
<p><strong><em>A qualified accountant would be the ideal candidate for this role, but we're very open to hearing from candidates who are qualified by experience. </em></strong></p>

<p><strong><em>Given the nature of this post, we're wanting someone who can hit the ground running and meet important deadlines effectively during this very busy for the charity! </em></strong></p>
