Wood is currently recruiting for a Lead Fire Equipment Engineer to join our team based from the client&
39;s Metropolitan Melbourne facilities.<br />
<br />
This is a lead engineering role, required to supervise a team and provide subject matter expertise in fire protection services.<br />
<br />
<b>Responsibilities </b></p>
<p> </p>
<ul>
<li>Contributes to the provision of fire protection services for a client</li>
<li>Produces fire deliverables at a concept level without supervision that comply with local laws and regulations, as well as industry and company codes, standards and practises, including but not limited to drawings, reports, specifications, cause and effects, schematics, layouts and material lists</li>
<li>Select and specify material and surface finish for fire suppression system to meet the required project design life</li>

<b>Skills / Qualifications </b></p>

<ul>
<li>Demonstrated experience in Fire Protection Services Engineering</li>
<li>Possess tertiary qualifications in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering or Diploma of Fire System Design</li>
<li>Registered Professional Engineer (Victoria) preferred but not mandatory</li>
<li>Member of Engineer&
39;s Australia and Chartered Professional Engineer (or on path to achieving)</li>
<li>A strong working knowledge with a range of design software packages, such as, Hyena (Automatic fire sprinkler design software)</li>
<li>Strong technical experience in fire protection design systems including but not limited to sprinkler protection, deluge system fire hydrant and hose reel, detection and alarm etc</li>
<li>Proven ability to select and specify material and surface finish for fire suppression system to meet the required design life for the project</li>
<li>Critical analysis of design options as well as a keen eye for details</li>
<li>Fully conversant with relevant Australian Standards. (e.g. AS1670, AS 2419, AS 2118, AS 1851 and relevant NFPA documents</li>
<li>Demonstrated effective verbal, and written communication skills</li>
</ul>
