THE OPPORTUNITY The Janssen Medical Affairs team are passionate about innovation, quality and patient personalisation. In this newly created role, the Medical Capability Specialist will work in developing the implementation and review of Medical Customer Excellence initiatives and performance metrics, as well as the building of a sustainable and leading-edge Customer Facing Medical Affairs Capability Development Program to support the delivery of the Janssen business strategy. Reporting into the Manager, Medical Capabilities and Operations you will partner together with ANZ participation in Asia-Pacific MSL Council and Asia Pacific Medical Affairs (MAF) Initiatives working towards implementable recommendations to support MSL Excellence and Medical Customer-Facing Excellence across Asia Pacific. Part of your role will be implementing and contributing to the status of key initiatives, best practice sharing and define MSL and Medical Customer-Facing Excellence strategy. RESPONSIBILITIES Collaborate with internal business partners to optimise MSL and Medical Customer Facing interactions to address key business issues and maximise opportunities and outcomes Manage deployment of competitive capabilities that enhance the value Janssen delivers to its customers through implementation of the Account Management Excellence Competency framework for the Medical Customer-Facing team Conduct regular MSL and Medical Advisor (MA) team meetings across all therapeutic area as a basis for challenging and improving the MSL and MA function Work with Manager, Medical Capability and Operation to ensure regular Field Coaching of all MSLs across therapeutic areas is performed & reported Coach and support the field medical team in Regularly review Key Opinion Leader (KOL) Engagement Plans (every 90 days) with MSLs Understand the strategic business priorities and initiatives and covert into actionable projects with a clear indication of deliverables, timeframes and outcomes Ensure all events and materials are fully compliant with internal and external requirements Qualifications IT’S ALL ABOUT YOU Tertiary qualification in business, science, health, medicine, pharmacy, life science or pharmaceutical degree is required Previous experience working as a MSL or Medical Advisor is highly desirable Experience working within sales, marketing, brand management is also highly desirable Strong focus with demonstrated ability to coach, develop and onboard team members within a medical capacity Solid stakeholder management skills and achieving business deliverables Understanding of local and international health policy issues Significant experience within the pharmaceutical industry primarily within a medical function. In-depth understanding of Australian and New Zealand codes of conduct Experience in working with cross functional teams within Marketing, Sales and other functions is desirable Strong communication skills to deliver presentations to internal and external diverse levelled teams and stakeholders (key opinion leaders, sales, medical) COMPANY CULTURE You will be rewarded through a competitive remuneration package along with continuous training, support and award-winning leadership development programs.
