Pipeline Materials Engineer

<b> Overview / Responsibilities </b><br><br>Wood is currently recruiting for a Senior Pipeline Materials Engineer with extensive experience in the oil and gas industry in Canada. <br><br><b> Responsibilities </b><br><ul><li> Provide technical expertise in metallic and non-metallic materials for above ground and buried pipeline projects </li><li> Prepare material specifications and testing programs for pipeline materials </li><li> Prepare requisitions and technical support through the procurement process </li><li> Prepare welding details and specifications for pipeline welding </li><li> Develop and maintain client relationships </li><li> Provide overall technical guidance to engineering and project teams for materials issues </li></ul> <br><br><b> Skills / Qualifications </b><br><br>T he ideal candidate will have the following skills and experience: <br><ul><li> Degree or equivalent in Engineering or relevant Materials area </li><li> At least 15 years' experience in pipeline materials </li><li> Registered Professional Engineer in Alberta </li><li> Experienced in the execution of conceptual studies, optimization work and front-end engineering design </li><li> Experience with oil, gas, hydrogen and carbon dioxide pipelines </li><li> Have a solid track record of achievement in the pipeline environment in the oil and gas arena </li><li> Must be able to think conceptually, develop strategies to enhance pipeline and offshore expertise, the vision required to develop a group of pipeline experts and have broad industry knowledge </li><li> Be recognized as a technical expert in pipeline materials and welding and able to coach and mentor others to similar levels of technical expertise, participation in industry organizations in this capacity is an asset </li><li> Proven leader with strong interpersonal and communication skills to ensure smooth coordination between company management, customers and various disciplines assisting on the project </li><li> Deep understanding of the pipeline business and industry pipeline construction in North America </li><li> Solid working knowledge of materials requirements of CSA Z662 and related CSA Z245 standards </li></ul><br><br><b> Company Overview </b><br><br>Wood is a global leader in engineering and consultancy across energy and the built environment, helping to unlock solutions to some of the world's most critical challenges.
