Structural Engineer

<b> Overview / Responsibilities </b><br><br>Wood Operations Group is seeking a<b> Structural Engineer</b> to join our Structural Engineering team based in <b>Oakville, Ontario</b> to work on various Power and Process projects. <br><br>In this role, the incumbant will be responsible for analysis and design of steel structures and concrete foundations. This includes structural steel and reinforced concrete superstructures for buildings, building and equipment foundations, pipe racks and other miscellaneous structures. <br><br><b> Responsibilities: </b><br><br><ul><li>Prepare conceptual and detailed design calculations in structural steel and concrete</li><li>Prepare engineering reports, specifications, design criteria and construction scope of work documents with guidance from senior engineers</li><li>Carry out feasibility studies and prepare reports</li><li>Respond to RFIs from contractors and resolve field problems</li><li>Site visits and inspections as needed. Sometimes travelling to remote sites may be required.</li><li>Preparation of quantity estimates</li><li>Coordinate with other team members</li><li>Coordinating preparation of drawings with designers and checking of drawings</li><li>Work in a multi-disciplinary environment and co-operate with other team members</li></ul> <br><br><b> Skills / Qualifications </b><br><br><ul><li>B Sc. in Structural Engineering and Professional Engineer designation in the Province of Ontario</li><li>5-6 years of relevant work experience</li><li>Experience in analysis and design of structural steel industrial structures and associated foundations</li><li>Knowledgeable in CSA A23.1/23.2, A23.3, S16, OBC and NBC</li><li> Strong verbal and written communication skills </li><li>Proficient in Staad.Pro and working knowledge of AutoCAD</li></ul> <br><br><b> Company Overview </b><br><br>Wood is a global leader in engineering and consultancy across energy and the built environment, helping to unlock solutions to some of the world's most critical challenges.
