Blasting Foreman - expression of interest

<b> Overview / Responsibilities </b><br><br>Wood have a future requirement for an Offshore Foreman Blaster \ Painter with extensive experience of working in a similar position in the offshore international oil and gas industry. <br><br>The work location is offshore Equatorial Guinea, the working rotation is normally 5 weeks on / 5 weeks off. <br><br> Required to supervise small crews of painting \ blasting personnel, carry out supervisory duties in accordance with company policies, including training personnel, assigning, and directing work, addressing work issues, and resolving problems. <br><br><b> Key Accountabilities: </b><br><br><ul><li> Applying protective coatings to the correct specifications to the steelwork </li><li> Surface preparation of pipework and steelwork using grit blasting equipment </li><li> Applying primers and intumescent as well as topcoat </li><li> Set up and operation of airless spray systems and equipment </li><li> Operate, clean and maintain all painting equipment, including brush, roll, sprayers, mixing containers, mixing equipment, and pumps. </li><li> Safely storing and labelling all materials when not in use, in line with required Environment, Health and Safety credentials for handling hazardous chemicals </li><li> Ability to mix and spray 2 pack paint </li><li> Maintain a safe work site, free of safety hazards by monitoring compliance with safety program requirements. </li><li> Raising and complying with PTW documentation </li><li> Document and/or communicate safety concerns to appropriate parties. </li></ul> <br><br><b> Skills / Qualifications </b><br><br><b> Minimum Qualifications </b><br><ul><li> Relevant technical qualifications </li><li> BOSIET Certification </li></ul><br><b> Business & Industry Experience: </b><br><ul><li> Possess several years of experience in a similar position working in the offshore oil and gas industry </li><li> Knowledge of two-pack marine coating systems </li><li> Experience of maintaining, setting up and operation of HPU equipment </li></ul><br><br><b> PC Application Skills: </b><br><ul><li> Must be proficient in Microsoft Office products. </li></ul><br><br><b> Personal Attributes: </b><br><br><ul><li> Fluent in English language </li><li> Good inter-personal and communication skills </li><li> Strong leadership skills </li></ul> <br><br><b> Company Overview </b><br><br>Wood is a global leader in engineering and consultancy across energy and the built environment, helping to unlock solutions to some of the world's most critical challenges.
